The 2026 Annual Financial Information Report (AFIR) is now available on the AFIR page of the Department of State Treasurer website. The updated AFIR instructions, template, and links are located on that page to help units complete and submit their FY 2026 AFIR.
All counties and municipalities must submit an AFIR; other unit types are not required to submit this report. In administrative code, the due date for the AFIR is Oct. 31. However, LGC staff acknowledge the due date for the FY 2026 audited financial statements is Dec. 31, and it may not be practical to submit an AFIR before the audited financial statements are complete. AFIRs for FY 2026 will be considered on time if they are submitted on or before Dec 31, 2026.
