The next round of interest-free Cashflow Loans is ready to be distributed to local governments in need. This will be the third installment of loans disbursed as a way to help communities who are already hard at work recovering from Hurricane Helene.
The Department of State Treasurer administered the Cashflow Loan program through disaster relief funding provided by the General Assembly. To date nearly $100 million has been distributed to communities in need. The next round of $51.5 million in funding, made possible by The Disaster Recovery Act of 2025 - Part II, is now ready to be requested.
“This is money they otherwise would have had to wait for extended periods of time to get from the federal government,” said State Treasurer Brad Briner. “The Cashflow Loan program has been successful since its implementation just a few short months ago. Communities in need now have nearly $100 million in hand and already being used in their recovery work.”

As with the first two rounds, local governments wishing to participate will need to complete a worksheet. Information on how to do that is here: Round 3 Loan Memo. DST will then offer loans on an as-needed basis for the communities.
