A leader from one of North Carolina’s premier community development firms is now going to be part of the board in charge of recruiting the best of the best to our state. Treasurer Brad Briner has selected Ben Teague to sit on The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina Board.
Teague is currently Vice President of Strategic Development at Biltmore Farms and a member of the NCInnovation Board of Directors. He joined Biltmore Farms in 2018 after leading the Asheville-Buncombe County Economic Development Coalition for more than nine years. Throughout his career, he has helped secure more than 60 economic development projects representing $3 billion in capital investment.
“North Carolina is consistently named one of the best states to do business, but even with a strong reputation like ours, we need the best of the best to help bring these companies here,” said Treasurer Brad Briner, who is nominating a Board member for the first time after the current state budget gave him two seats to select members for. “Ben’s reputation as a business leader and his passion to help our state flourish makes him the perfect choice for this important board.”
The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina helps to bring new businesses to our state, supports current employers and helps counsel small and startup businesses. It plays an important role in keeping the economic well-being for all North Carolinians.
In 2017, Teague was named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers by Consultant Connect and he has led the Asheville-Buncombe County EDC team to become one of 50 accredited economic development organizations. Teague was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar by four US Presidential Foundations.
