Folwell, CPA, announced today that the North Carolina Council of State voted to approve the issuance of up to $150 million in General Obligation (GO) Refunding Bonds as well as up to $300 million in Limited Obligation Refunding Bonds. The bonds will be used to refund outstanding obligations to take advantage of lower interest rates thus reducing financing costs for taxpayers.

Folwell, CPA, announced today the lowering of the investment return assumption for the North Carolina Retirement Systems (the Fund) from 7.25% to 7.20% beginning with the December 31, 2016 valuations.
