Financial Literacy High School Program

About the Program: 

Treasurer Briner speaks to students
  • One student per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer), age 16-18 
  • Must be enrolled in school or, for a summer internship, recently graduated 
  • Must apply for the role: resume, transcript and cover letter on why you want to be involved 
  • Minimum of 5 hours per week in the office or working remotely on financial literacy assignments 
Program: 
  • Learn from financial leaders within the department about types of jobs and roles available: scheduled time with division leaders to shadow and learn about roles 
  • Work on project to launch financial literacy clubs in schools statewide
  • Take Finance Friday ideas/topic and create an elementary school program for financial literacy 
  • Spend one day shadowing at Fidelity Investments in Research Triangle Park to learn about their organization 
Benefits:
  • Education scholarship upon completion of internship. $500
