The staff of the Local Government Commission has released a memorandum outlining upcoming changes to State Single Audit requirements stemming from changes to federal single audit requirements issued in April 2024 by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

In response to changes issued by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to federal single audit requirements in April 2024, the staff of the Local Government Commission (LGC) has made adjustments to the State Single Audit Implementation Act, effective for fiscal years ending on or after June 30, 2026. 

The UNC School of Government is offering a “Fiduciary Responsibilities of Local Elected Officials” course on April 2. The course will be held via Zoom from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

This course is a great opportunity to learn about the basics of local government finance and the requirements of the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act.
